In the previous lesson, we briefly talked about puppets. However, there is something more to it. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step one: Creating a clean puppet
1) Log out of your nation and click "New Nation".
2) Fill out it's starting stats and options. Sometimes you might be asked to theme your puppet in a certain way, but mostly, make consistent decisions and you'll be good.
3) Give it an innocent-looking name. Don't name it "<Main nation name> 1" or something gibberish - use a name generator if you can't come up with any.
4) (Optional) give it a custom flag that doesn't associate it with you or any raider organisation.
Step two: Hiding the puppet
1) You'll want to hide the puppet before moving to the target to avoid defender suspicion. You'll get a lot of recruitment telegrams - click one of those, or, preferrably, turn recruitment TGs off in your settings and move to a large, familiar one. Don't move into a region tagged "invader" or "imperialist".
2) It is advisable to wait a day - solve some issues, chat on the regional message board with natives. Appear genuine. After a while, move through some other big regions and wait for the target.
After doing those things, you will be given a target region and a nation to endorse. Move in and endorse the nation, two hours before the next update at the latest. Depending on how well you did in keeping your puppet hidden and on how well we did keeping the spies out, we succeed or we fail after that. After the raid, that puppet is no longer usable for stealth invasions and becomes a dirty puppet. You will need to create a new clean puppet after each stealth raid.
For piling, always use a dirty puppet - clean puppets can be used but it would be a waste of effort to do so.
